Only professionals to sell agchems in Paraguay
Sales and marketing of agrochemicals in Paraguay are to be limited to agricultural professionals. The Paraguayan plant health and seed quality service, the Senave, issued a resolution last month determining that only agronomists and other agricultural professionals with know-how may sell pesticides. Resolution 292/11 regulates the registration of professionals. The sale of pesticides must be addressed as there are cases when those charged with selling products lack the technical knowledge of the active ingredients within them, the Senave says. The resolution also regulates: technical assessment services covering pesticide registration activities; foreign trade; use recommendations; disposal and recycling of empty containers; and efficacy testing in field trials.
