New EU agchem registration rules throw up surprises and doubts

Endocrine disruptors (EDs) are not among the cut-off criteria to be adopted under the new EU agrochemical registration regulation (1107/2009) that is to come into force in June next year. That is the understanding of Claudio Mereu, partner at the law firm, Field Fisher Waterhouse, and specialist in EU plant protection product legislation. Mereu gave delegates at last month's Agchem Forum in Lyon, France news on the likely impacts on data sharing, comparative assessments as well as his understanding on the thorny issue of cut-off criteria from the regulation.
