Illinois: The Illinois Agricultural Legislative Roundtable is urging the state's U.S. senators and congressional delegation to support legislation that will amend FIFRA to block states from requiring a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit for routine, FIFRA-compliant pesticide applications. According to the roundtable, the Illinois EPA is currently proposing a permit for aquatic pesticide uses that appears to require farmers to get a permit for routine use of pesticides near any state water.
