Malaysia to ban BPA in baby bottles

Polycarbonate plastic baby bottles containing bisphenol A will be banned in Malaysia after March 1, 2012, The Star Online reported March 14. "The enforcement will be made in stages and the industry is given one year to comply by making changes to their machines and buying new raw materials," Malaysian Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai is quoted as saying. The minister noted the European Union has made a similar announcement.
