California: The California Department of Pesticide Regulation this week announced its Top 10 Pesticide Blunders, drawn from injuries and illnesses reported to DPR in 2009 and 2010. Among the blunders: A Kern County man drinking alcohol while spraying plants at his home mistakenly drank a pesticide from a measuring cup but was unable to explain why the product was in the cup. A San Joaquin County man heavily sprayed his barbecue for ants one morning and cooked hamburger on it later that evening. Feeling sick minutes after eating, he sought care after vomiting all night.
