Policy in the pipeline for applying uncertainty factors to non-FQPA risk assessments

Over a year has passed since EPA first proposed applying Food Quality Protection Act risk assessment methods to non-food use pesticide risk assessments with the aim of better protecting agricultural workers and their children. But a new policy to consistently apply uncertainty factors across pesticide exposure scenarios is nearing completion, and other activities are underway in regard to the agency's December 2009 policy paper Revised Risk Assessment Methods for Workers, Children of Workers in Agricultural Fields, and Pesticides with No Food Uses.
