European Chemicals Agency compiling nano inventory

In response to a European Commission request, the European Chemicals Agency is developing an inventory of nanomaterials included in REACH registration dossiers and classification, labeling and packaging notifications, attorney Lynn Bergeson blogged on May 17. ECHA intends to deliver the inventory by the end of June, with more detailed inventory results available toward the end of the year, according to an ECHA spokesperson. Nanomaterials have been selected as the substance form in three dossiers and 14 notifications, the spokesperson said, and ECHA will be able to identify 50-60 dossiers with nano information that will be sent to the commission's Joint Research Centre to be assessed under a separate project addressing if and how information on nanomaterials is included in dossiers.
