EU ag ministers support action to protect bees
The European Commission should evaluate the need for additional rules on controls of residues in honey for "various pesticides," say EU agriculture ministers. The call is among several recommendations agreed to by ministers this month. Their response is to the commission's report outlining all the measures being taken to halt the decline in bee populations. The ministers welcome the report, which covers a range of possible factors including disease and loss of habitat, as addressing the issue in a "comprehensive way."
