Brazil agchem imports up 10% in 2012
Pesticide imports into Brazil rose by 10% to a new record of $5,500 million in 2012, business newspaper Valor Economico reports. It cites figures from the agrochemical trade association, the Sindag. Volume imports were up by over a quarter (+25.7%) to 296,810 tonnes of active ingredients. Growth of insecticide imports was especially impressive at over 47% to some 79,200 tonnes.
