ELI Summer School: Clean Land - Hazardous Waste and Sites - June 29

The Environmental Law Institute is hosting a meeting June 29 focusing on hazardous waste as part of its 2011 Summer School series. The meeting will take place in ELI's office, 2000 L Street, NW, Suite 620, Washington, D.C. According to ELI, the meeting panelists will discuss the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). "The [panelists] will talk about Love Canal and the events that led to the enactment of CERCLA, and how the allocation between various parties of responsibility for cleanup has changed throughout the history of the statute. The discussion will also address uncertainties that still exist in RCRA in areas such as the definition of solid waste and the rules for recycling." The event is free, but reservations are required by June 24. For more information, including how to register, find the event at www.eli.org
