ECHA recommends adding 13 SVHCs to REACH authorization list

The European Chemicals Agency on June 15 launched a public consultation on its draft recommendation to add 13 substances of very high concern to the REACH Authorization List, Annex XIV. Once added, these chemicals cannot be used or put on the market after a particular date unless granted an authorization. The 13 SVHCs are: chromium trioxide; chromic acid, oligomers of chromic acid and dichromic acid; sodium dichromate; potassium dichromate; ammonium dichromate; potassium chromate; sodium chromate; trichloroethylene; cobalt(II) sulphate; cobalt dichloride; cobalt(II) dinitrate; cobalt(II) carbonate; and cobalt(II) diacetate.
