New Zealand to phase out diazinon

The New Zealand Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) proposes to ban some uses of the organophosphate insecticide diazinon and to phase out nearly all use within three years. A preliminary review indicates that all uses other than automated release in greenhouses pose unacceptable risks to health and the environment. Automated release is the only use that would be permitted after three years.
