Industry wary of EPA's proposed use of FIFRA section 6 to get nanopesticide data

Industry stakeholders have lashed out at EPA's draft nanopesticide guidance, calling a bid by the agency to require registrants to submit information on nanoscale materials in pesticide products under an adverse effects data reporting mechanism unlawful and ill-advised. Comments filed by pesticide and chemical industry trade groups are highly critical of EPA's proposal, warning the agency's plans are premature, could undermine commercialization of nanopesticides and do little to help the agency gather the information it needs to assess their safety.
