NASS data show fungicide use up on strawberries but down on tomatoes

The percentage of strawberry acres in the U.S. treated with fungicides rose in 2010 while the percentage of fungicide-treated fresh market tomato acres decreased in comparison to percentages reported in 2006 - the last time chemical use data for these crops were collected by the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service's Agricultural Chemical Use Program. However, grower groups maintain fungicide use is steady among the two crops, at least in California and Florida.
