Global nematicide market expanding
The $1,000 million global nematicide market is expected to see steady growth over the next four years, reaching a value of some $1,200 million by 2016, according to US market research company Kline & Company (Parsipanny, New Jersey). The US, Brazil and Japan represented the largest markets, accounting for 70% of the sector last year. Vegetables constituted the major crop market for nematicides, with sales of $432 million representing 44% of the total in 2011. Other important markets were field crops and specialty crops.
