Brazil agchem dollar sales down 8% in 2009
Agrochemical sales in Brazil fell by 7.9% in dollar terms despite a slight rise in the national currency, according to preliminary figures from the Brazilian agrochemical trade association, the Sindag. The market reached $6,559 million for the year. Sales inched 1.1% higher in the Brazilian currency to R$12,878 million. The market was largely flat with volumes higher and average prices down, Sindag information chief Ivan Sampaio told Agrow.
