Chinese production up as exports suffer in 2009
The Chinese pesticide industry faced a difficult year in 2009 as a result of the global financial crisis. The global pesticide market contracted and China experienced over-production and over-supply, reports the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA). While prices of raw materials rose, pesticide prices saw a slight overall decline. Despite this, there was growth in total pesticide production, output value, sales value and export volumes.
