Brazilian agchem imports flat in 2009
Pesticide imports into Brazil were largely flat in Brazil last year, rising just 0.3% compared with 2008 to $2,134.5 million, according to figures from the Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade, the MDIC, provided to Agrow by the Brazilian generic industry association, the Aenda. Formulated product imports continued to rise. They were up by 2.7% to $1,292.8 million, and made up 61% of the total compared with 59% in 2008. Imports of active ingredients dipped by 3.1% to $841.7 million, to account for 39% of the trade (41%).
