MAI cheers flat Q1 sales
Makhteshim-Agan Industries’ (MAI) agrochemical sales dipped 0.3% to $678.8 million in the first quarter of 2010 compared with last year. Sales including non-pesticides edged 0.1% higher to produce the company’s “strongest-ever” quarter, new president and CEO Erez Vigodman says. Crop protection products made up 93.9% of sales. The positive results have convinced the company to withdraw the share issue to raise over $100 million that it had planned ( Agrow No 588, p 6).
