Monsanto agchems plunge as seed and traits dominate Q3
Monsanto’s sales in its agricultural productivity business fell by over a third to $600 million in the three months to the end of May compared with the same period last year. The segment is dominated by crop protection and lawn and garden herbicide products. Third quarter seed and trait sales were up by 5.1% to $2,362 million, leading to a 6.3% fall in overall sales to $2,962 million. The company says the results were in line with expectations as its glyphosate herbicide business suffered.
