Bayer agchem sales up 16% in Q4
Bayer CropScience’s crop protection sales continued their recovery in the fourth quarter of 2010, mirroring the 16% rise of the previous quarter. Revenues for the final three months of 2010 reached €1,367 million ($1,863 million at the current rate). The results represent a recovery on earlier in the year. Sales dropped almost 9% in the first half ( Agrow No 597, pp 6-8). Full-year sales rose by just 1.3%. New Bayer group chairman of the board Dr Marijn Dekkers rated the earnings “disappointing”, adding that the business had to “contend with a shrinking market”.
