FMC agchems ahead 24% in Q3
Sales gains in all regions boosted FMC’s agrochemical revenues by 23.7% to $382.1 million in the third quarter of 2011. Most growth occurred in Latin America, particularly Brazil, with sales up by 31% over the same period last year. The company points to strong market conditions in crops such as sugar cane, cotton and soybeans. An “exceptional” start to the season in Brazil reflects strong commodity prices, increased crop areas and industry-leading positions in sugar cane and cotton, says Milton Steele, head of FMC’s agricultural products business.
