MAI sales surge 20% in Q3
Makhteshim-Agan Industries (MAI) posted a 20.4% jump in agrochemical sales to $590.2 million in the third quarter of 2011 compared with the same period last year. That followed a 22% rise in sales in second quarter and a more modest 8% in the first last year’s third quarter ( Agrow passim). This year’s quarterly reports include first-time consolidation of revenues for a third quarter from the acquired Korean and Mexican businesses from last year ( Agrow No 605, p 2). Revenues covering all MAI business were up 19.8% to $638.5 million in the three months to the end of September.
