Syngenta crop protection up 11% in Q4
Syngenta’s fourth-quarter crop protection sales grew by 11% in the final quarter of 2011 to $2,352 million. The rise was the same at constant exchange rates (CER) and came on the back of a strong final quarter in the Americas, especially in the north, and booming sales of non-selective herbicides. The quarterly figures were also compared with double-digit growth in the final quarter of the previous year ( Agrow No 610, pp 6-7). Annual crop protection sales were also strong, topping $10,000 million for the first time. Fourth-quarter seed and trait sales were flat, but saw double-digit growth for the year.
