Uruguayan agchem imports inch higher in 2011
Uruguayan agrochemical imports rose by 2.5% to $153.8 million in 2011 compared with the previous year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. That marks two-year growth of 24% on the previously reported figures from 2009, when imports dropped by 44% from their record level the previous year ( Agrow No 587, p 22). Formulated products accounted for 87% of imports, up from 86% in 2010. Volume imports were also up, rising 3.8% to 60.2 tonnes.
