Chemtura AgroSolutions down 11% in Q4
Chemtura AgroSolutions’ sales fell by 11.3% to $86 million in the fourth quarter of 2011. Sales volumes were impacted by dry conditions in eastern Europe, which reduced winter plantings of oilseed rape by 30%, the company points out. The business also experienced a “less-than-planned improvement” in Latin America, where there was a continuing impact from new registrations of generic products. Operating income dropped by 44.4% to $5 million due to lower sales and an unfavourable product mix.
