Australian agchem sales up 13% in 2010/11
Sales of pesticides in Australia rose by 13% to Aus$2,420.6 million (US$2,606.7 million at the current rate) in the fiscal year ended June 30th 2011, according to the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). Herbicide sales were up by 5% to Aus$1,251.8 million, representing 52% of the total (56% in fiscal 2010). Insecticide/acaricide sales were up by a third and fungicide sales by nearly 47%. Interim figures were issued in December 2011 ( Agrow No 630, p 20).
