BASF Q1 sales up 8%
BASF’s agricultural solutions division recorded revenue growth of 7.9% in the first quarter of 2012 to €1,327 million ($1,747 million at the current rate). Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) went up by 19.5% to €459 million ($604 million). EBIT rose by 22.2% to €419 million ($551 million). Income received a boost from a 3% increase in volumes as well as prices, and positive currency effects of 2%.
