MAI first-qtr agchem sales rise 6%
ChemChina subsidiary Makhteshim-Agan Industries (MAI) posted a 6.3% rise in agrochemical sales to $780 million in the first quarter of 2011. Growth came from a rise in volume sales and higher prices compared with the same period last year. The latter followed a rise in raw material and active ingredient costs. Gross profit was also up, while margins improved.
