BASF agchem sales up 12% in 2012
BASF recorded double-digit growth in 2012 with a 12.3% rise in crop protection revenues to €4,679 million ($6,360 million at the current rate). Sales were boosted by volumes increasing by 6%, prices by 1%, and positive currency effects of 5%. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were up by 20.5% to €1,182 million ($1,607 million), while EBIT rose by over a quarter (27%) to €1,026 million ($1,395 million). The company was able to meet its EBITDA margin target of 25%.
