Brazil agchem market up 14% in 2012
The Brazilian agrochemical market keeps on growing. It jumped another 14.4% to reach a new record of $9,710 million in 2012, according to the agrochemical industry trade association, the Sindag. The market size was impacted by the rise of the US dollar relative to the Brazilian currency, Sindag market data chief Ivan Amâncio Sampaio notes. The dollar rose from around R$1.70 in 2011 to some R$2.00 last year. The market grew even more strongly in national currency terms.
