BASF Q1 agchem sales up 17%
BASF’s agrochemical sales posted a 17.3% rise to €1,556 million ($2,031 million at the current rate) in the first quarter of 2013. After currency and portfolio effects, sales were up around 14%. The acquisition of Becker Underwood ( Agrow No 654, p 2) boosted revenues. Portfolio changes added 4%, volumes 13% and prices just 1%, while currency effects shaved 1% from the headline figure.
