Wynca’s 2009 agchem sales plummet 60%
Zhejiang Wynca Chemical saw its 2009 agrochemical sales plummet 60.7% to Yuan 2,014.1 million ($295.5 million at the current rate). The company attributes the fall in sales to the financial crisis and the over-supply and lack of demand for its main product - the herbicide, glyphosate. Total sales, which include organosilicone products, were down 46.7% on the previous year to Yuan 3,849.8 million ($564.8 million). Wynca saw its agrochemical sales more than double in 2008 to Yuan 5,121 million ($751.3 million, Agrow No 562, p 4), boosted by high glyphosate prices.
