Spain approves DuPont’s Altacor

Spain has approved the marketing of DuPont’s insecticide, Alticor (chlorantraniliprole). It is a water-dispersible granule formulation for use against cotton bollworms ( Helicoverpa armigera) on aubergines, lettuces and endives, beet armyworms ( Spodoptera exigua) on peppers, lettuces and endives, and tomato leaf miners ( Tuta absoluta). The full registration follows a 120-day emergency approval in the country for use against leaf miners earlier this year ( Agrow No 589, p 25). It is recommended for use at 10-11.5 g/hl on tomatoes, peppers and aubergines, and 85-115 g/ha on lettuces and endives.
