Japan’s nine-month pesticide sales marginally down
Agrochemical sales in Japan dipped by 0.7% to ¥275,345 million ($3,588 million at the current rate) during the first nine months of the country’s current pesticide year (October 1st 2010 to June 30th 2011). Production volumes also saw a slight decline, down 0.5% on the same period in the previous year to 155,837 tonnes. The figures come from the Japan Crop Protection Association. Sales in the third quarter seem to have picked up as the drop in six-month sales was 2% ( Agrow No 621, p 22).
