Brazil approves Isagro’s orthosulfamuron
Brazil has approved Italian agrochemical company Isagro’s rice herbicide, orthosulfamuron. The sulfonylurea herbicide has been registered as a foliar application. The national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, recommended the approval at the end of 2010 ( Agrow No 606, p 24). Orthosulfamuron was first approved in the US in 2007 ( Agrow No 517, p 23) and was debuted in Colombia as Kelion the same year ( Agrow No 538, p 4). Isagro’s new joint venture with Chemtura, Isem ( Agrow No 609, p 2), is to market the herbicide.
