EU approval for Syngenta’s isopyrazam
The European Commission has confirmed the EU approval for Syngenta’s new cereal fungicide, isopyrazam (trade-marked as IZM). The formal approval follows clearance by the EU regulatory committee ( Agrow No 651, p 8). Isopyrazam will be added to the list of approved active ingredients under the EU agrochemical registration Regulation (1107/2009) on April 1st 2013. It gained its first provisional approval in the EU in the UK in 2010, as Bontima (isopyrazam + cyprodinil) for barley, followed by Seguris (isopyrazam + epoxiconazole) for wheat and other cereals in 2011 ( Agrow No 610, p 21), and has since gained other national approvals.
