DuPont opens seed production facility in Ukraine
DuPont seed subsidiary DuPont Pioneer has opened its seed production facility at Stasi in the Poltava province of Ukraine. The $40 million centre will be operational in time for the 2013 season for maize, sunflowers and oilseed rape in Ukraine. The production plant, together with the logistics facility built at Stasi in 2011 (Agrow No 624, p 5), employs around 70 staff to support the warehousing, distribution and production of about 500,000 units of Pioneer brand maize and sunflower hybrids. The company claims to be the market leader in Ukraine for maize hybrids.
