China's five-month agchem imports up 26%
China's agrochemical imports jumped by over a quarter (+26.2%) in the first five months of 2013 over the same period last year to $365.8 million, according to official figures from China's General Administration of Customs. In volume terms, five-month imports increased by 10.8% to 37,107 tonnes. In May alone, agrochemical imports totalled $70.5 million, and some 6,622 tonnes in volume terms. China's first-quarter pesticide imports rose by 23.9% to $211 million, and by 10.1% in volume terms to 22,700 tonnes (Agrow No 665, p 23).
