US GM wheat an isolated incident
Investigations by the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) indicate that the detection of genetically modified glyphosate-tolerant wheat in Oregon is an isolated incident. All information collected so far shows no indication of the presence of GM wheat in commerce, the USDA notes. It has "neither found nor been informed of anything that would indicate that this incident amounts to more than a single isolated incident in a single field on a single farm". The APHIS launched the investigation following the detection of glyphosate-tolerant wheat last month (Agrow No 665, p 11).
