US state restricts dinotefuran after bee kills

The US Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) has suspended the use of 18 products based on Mitsui Chemicals' neonicotinoid insecticide, dinotefuran, following large numbers of bee deaths last month. The six-month restriction applies to products used by professional applicators and homeowners for agricultural, turf and ornamental uses to avoid the potential for similar large bee kills this summer, the ODA points out. It does not apply to products used on pets or for household pest control.
