Australia to approve Dow's sulfoxaflor
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has proposed the approval of Dow AgroSciences' insecticide, Transform (sulfoxaflor 240 g/litre), for the control of aphids and other sucking pests such as plant bugs, whiteflies, plant hoppers and scale insects on canola, cereals, cotton, soybeans and various fruit and vegetable crops. Sulfoxaflor would be a new active ingredient in Australia. Dow recently launched sulfoxaflor in partnership with Arysta LifeScience in Vietnam (Agrow No 667, p 21). The ai has also been approved in the US, Canada, Guatemala, Indonesia and Panama. The APVMA's proposed approval is open to public comment until July 30th.
