Dutch industry welcomes new EU MRL rules

The Dutch agrochemical industry association, Nefyto, has welcomed the “harmonisation” that the new EU rules on pesticide maximum residue limits (MRLs) would bring. It expects them to lead to a higher transparency within and outside the EU. It says that the MRL rules will significantly contribute to the removal of existing trade barriers in the EU and lead to better access into the EU of products from third countries. The new EU pesticide MRL Regulation (396/2005) came into effect in September ( Agrow No 551, p14).
