UK groups fight on for study on EU agchem rules

The European Ombudsman has decided not to consider a UK complaint that the European Commission failed to undertake an EU-wide impact assessment on its proposals to introduce hazard-based cut-off criteria in the agrochemical registration process. The complaint was lodged by the British Crop Production Council (BCPC) and the Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE – Agrow No 559, p 11). They have vowed to fight on and seek an urgent meeting with the Ombudsman.
