Germany lifts suspension of four STs for use on oilseed rape
Germany has lifted the suspension of four insecticidal seed treatments for use on oilseed rape. The federal office for consumer protection, the BVL, ended the suspensions last month against the registrations on the crop but the suspensions remain for the products’ use on maize. The affected seed treatments are: Bayer CropScience’s Antarc and Chinook (both imidacloprid), and Elado (clothianidin); and Syngenta's Cruiser OSR (thiamethoxam). The suspensions were imposed in May ( Agrow No 545, p 14), following reports of poisoning of bees from the application of the treatments on maize.
