Syngenta GM maize gets Brazil OK
Syngenta has been granted provisional commercial approval in Brazil for its genetically modified glyphosate-tolerant GA21 maize. If ratified, it would become the company’s second GM maize product to be available for marketing in the country. Syngenta was granted full commercial approval for its GM corn borer ( Ostrinia nubilalis)-resistant Agrisure TL (Bt11) maize earlier this year ( Agrow No 546, p 22). The GA21 maize event was one of three GM products to be approved by the CTNBio this month (see this issue).
