Bayer signs manufacturing agreement with Hikal
Bayer CropScience has signed a long-term manufacturing agreement for the supply of active ingredients with the Indian agrochemical and pharmaceutical outsourcing company, Hikal (Mumbai). The outsourcing agreement is part of Bayer’s “global strategy”, according to the company’s head of industrial operations, Dr Wolfgang Welter. Hikal has set up a new plant at Taloja for this purpose and expects to commence supplies in the second half of 2008. Hikal’s crop protection salesamounted to Rs 1368 million ($33.6 million) in the year ended March 31stl 2007.
