Pest plague concern in Argentina
An infestation of crop pests, due to the recent “intense drought” in Argentina, is to plague thick crops in the coming season. The Argentine national agricultural technology institute, the INTA, has given the warning through its agricultural pest alert system, according to the national newspaper, Clarin. It predicts growing populations of thrips, grasshoppers and spider mites, and expects losses to wheat crops. The drought has led to a delay in crop planting in the country.
