EU pesticide reforms spark fierce debate at AgChem Forum

The European Commission's proposed revision of the EU agrochemical registration Directive (91/414) caused a spiky debate between politicians and industry representatives at the AgChem Forum in September. “You are to blame for this - why has the agrochemical industry not already produced safe products?” Hiltrud Breyer, MEP and member of the EU Parliament's Environment Committee, asked in her opening salvo to the debate. “It is up to you to do this,” she told the industry delegates.
