US approval for Bayer's pyrasulfotole combo
Bayer CropScience has received US approval for its broad-spectrum cereal herbicide, Wolverine (pyrasulfotole + bromoxynil + fenoxaprop-P-ethyl + mefenpyr-diethyl safener). It is aimed at the post-emergence control of some 63 broadleaf weeds and grasses in wheat and barley ( Agrow No 562, p 19). Bayer recommends an application rate of 1.7 pints/acre (2 litres/ha). The company received US approval for pyrasulfotole in 2007 ( Agrow No 526, p 22) and launched the active ingredient, in combination with bromoxynil, as Huskie last year.
